I became interested in journalism in high school when I took a broadcasting class. Since then I've written stories for two college publications and taken several classes that have furthered my skills through studies and assignments.

I began writing for The University news in August of 2016. I've covered everything from a new sorority to a controversial speaker coming to campus and the protests that followed. In December of 2016 I took my first editing position as managing editor and now I am currently the editor in chief of The University News.
I designed a new 24 page layout for The University News. I changed the layout from 12 page broadsheet, to a 24 page tabloid and it was no small feat. Re-configuring the amount of columns and spacing was necessary as well as changing the margins. I had to work our advertising space as well as our word count for stories. However, the final result was a smaller paper that wasn't difficult to fold or hold and the tabloid layout allowed for more eye catching covers.
